Scott McCloud talks post print comics…

TED posted this talk by Scott McCloud early January. For those of you who don’t know Scott McColud is possibly the biggest nerd on the planet when it comes to comics. The talk follows on from his book ‘Understanding Comics’ where he explains the magic of comics and how they are evolving. Recently Nawlz was referenced on Scott’s website here within the section entitle “The Infinite Canvas”.

“The “infinite canvas” is a challenge to think big; a series of design strategies based on treating the screen as a window rather than a page. The basic premise is that there’s no reason that long-form comics have to be split into pages when moving online. Pages are an option—and they can work well when screen shapes are taken into account—but the advantages of putting all panels together on a single “canvas” are significant and worth exploiting.”

ISSUE #12 “WALKING LIMO”

With a new Freqon chip under his hood, Jonnie-jon’s confidence is booming as he envisions the ultimate cast… The Walking Limo. Casting is a lot harder then it appears as his good friend Harley reminds him… “The Freqon doesn’t create the images Jonnie-jon.” Harley then proceeds to school Jonnie-jon in the art of casting.

NAWLZ featured in Picnic mag

Nawlz recieved a 4 page spread in Mexico’s Picnic-mag last month. The theme for the magazine was ‘Process’ . The interviewer asked ‘what is my process?”. My response was ‘To dream up the imposiible…’ this was accompanied with an illustration stating “Wouldn’t THAT be just MAGICAL if you came home and the drawings had done themselves!!!!”
